Alvaro Leal | President & CEO

Mr. Leal has over 30 years of experience providing strategic consulting services to companies developing or expanding international ventures. Before founding BlueSentinel, Mr. Leal served as Executive Director of the Venezuelan Securities and Exchange Commission and in the 90s worked in Washington for the World Bank on several projects in Central Asia and Latin America.Since 2000 Mr. Leal has been leading BlueSentinel’s team through the process of identification of opportunities, purchasing, financing and turnaround of several companies in the U.S., Europe and South America. Mr. Leal shares his time between BlueSentinel’s offices in New York and Milan.Mr. Leal graduated with honors and first of the class in Law School (Universidad Católica Andrés Bello, Venezuela) and obtained a Masters degree in Economics from New York’s Columbia University.

Diego McDonald | Executive Director

Mr. McDonald has over 20 years experience in transforming underperforming businesses into highly efficient and profitable entities. He has held CFO/COO and Managing Director positions in industries ranging from retail to ecommerce to art auction and successfully led multiple acquisitions and divestitures across continents. A graduate of the George Washington University, he also holds an MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University and a CPA designation.

Fernando Calderon

Mr. Calderon has over 40 years of experience in building and leading teams within public corporations. He has served at the President and CEO level in multiple multinational companies and provides expertise in Strategic Planning, Mergers and Acquisitions, Process Improvement, Global Sales and Marketing, Regulatory Compliance and Corporate Governance. Mr. Calderon serves on several corporate, industrial, and non-profit Boards.

Michael Moriarty

Mr. Moriarty has over 35 years of experience as an attorney and advisor for both international businesses and entrepreneurs. He provides legal, strategic, and tactical guidance for Joint Ventures, Partnerships, Strategic Alliances, and Purchase/Sale transactions. Mr. Moriarty possesses law degrees from the New York University School of Law and St. John’s University School of Law and is based in BlueSentinel’s New York office.

Gladys Rangel | Vice President, Hospitality

Mrs. Rangel has more than 20 years of experience managing hotels and restaurants and currently leads BlueSentinel's hospitality advisory division. She started her career working for Kongress Haus Hotel in Davos, Switzerland and reached top management positions in multiple hospitality groups. Mrs. Rangel obtained a degree in Management of Hotels and Tourism Companies from Schweiz. Schule für Touristik und Hotellerie AG in Switzerland and is fluent in Spanish, French, German and English. She earned a masters degree in Applyed Nutrition for Restaurants from Universidad de Santander in Bucaramanga, Colombia.

Kelly Padden

Ms. Padden launched her art advisory business in 2009 after more than a decade of working with artists, curators, gallerists and private collectors from around the world. She was previously the Director of Photography at Phillips de Pury & Company in London and works with private and institutional art collectors on all aspects of building collections, from sourcing works and acquisitions through museum loans and de-acquisitions.
